Will the clutch slip?
On a manual with a worn clutch it can. We calibrate to keep torque within sensible limits and will flag a tired clutch before mapping.
1.6 TDI — is it worth it?
Yes. The 1.6 responds well and the difference in everyday driveability is bigger than the numbers suggest.
